Overview HDMI to USB capture card
This HDMI capture card does have one HDMI input, one HDMI output, one headphone output, and one USB C output. It enables you to turn the HDMI signal from any device to a webcam signal, which then can be used in any program which supports adding a webcam.
Works with mac and windows, without any driver. This capture Card is a really good Elgato Cam Link 4 alternative, with some benefits the Elgato doesn’t have. We made this video to show you this capture card and also how it works:
Connections of the HDMI to USB C capture card
The HDMI capture card does have the following connections: 1x HDMI input, 1x HDMI output, 1x USB C out, 1x aux 3,5mm headphone jack
HDMI Input: The HDMI input can input signals from your camera, laptop, or console up to a resolution of 4k 30 fps.
USB C output: The USB output connects with the included USB cable directly into your mac or pc. Your pc then recognize the capture card as a webcam signal. You then simply select the capture card as a webcam input in your favorite streaming or recording program. The name of the HDMI card should look like this: XF-V8006
HDMI output: The video signal of the HDMI input loops also through the capture card to the HDMI out port. You can plug in a display and monitor your incoming video signal.
3,5mm aux output: The 3,5mm aux output allows you to plugin a headphone and monitor the audiosignal from your HDMI source before getting it into your pc.
Elgato Cam Link 4k alternative?
The specs of this HDMI capture card are really simmilar to the Elgato Cam Link 4K. This capture card does have some advantes which doesnt have the Cam Link and vice versa.
The main advantage of this card over the Elgato Stream Stick is, that it can also output a hdmi and headphone for montoring the video and audio. Also it does have USB C connection, which can be faster. The Elgato Cam Link 4k on the other side outputs 4k, while this capture card only inputs 4k and outputs 1080p. But to be honenst, streaming in 4k is not common yet. The latence from both devices are the same also the compatibility with other devices. Both works with mac and pc and doesnt require any drivers.
This makes the HDMI capture card a serious alternative to the Elgato Cam Link 4k.
